Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh government has decided to set up cyber crime police stations in each district, complete construction of an advanced forensic lab at Amaravati and improve the police network by liberally sanctioning funds. These decisions were taken at a high-level meeting held by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here with Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao, ACB Director A Ravi Shankar and other senior officials on Wednesday.
Naidu directed the officials to improve the network system against ganja smuggling by using drone cameras at production centres and CCTV footage at consumption centres. Briefing the media after the meeting, the Home Minister denied downgrading the security coverage for YSRCP president and Pulivendula MLA YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. “As a former Chief Minister, though he is not the Leader of Opposition, we are providing him Z plus security. We are also providing 2 plus 2 gunmen to his mother Vijayamma and wife Bharati though he denied any security cover for Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari and daughter-in-law Brahmani.”
Anitha, when asked to comment on allegations of YSRCP leaders that they would challenge downgrading of security for Jagan Mohan Reddy, said they are at liberty to approach anyone.
